one of my first ideas was to capture photos of as many board members as possible because representation matters both physically and visibly. Before, the WDM Chamber's website only listed a name with a contact for board members. By including photos of these members, i was able to bring further visibility to the community and form a connection between the name and person.

I PROPOSED THIS IDEA IN SUpPORT OF BLACK BUsiNESsES AS there are only a handful in the des moines area. i photographed bipoc members and ambassadors of the chamber to further bring visibility to marginalized identities. Through this, I was also able to connect and learn about each individual's background.

with my time at the chamber, one of my main projects was to capture the essence of west des moines through my perspective. i spent a hot summer day admiring the buildings around me and taking photos. most of the pictures I took for this were used for emails to members, newsletters, and social media.
